The Puławy-based Institute of Cultivation, Fertilization and Soil Science of the National Research Institute offers a wide range of training courses and scientific conferences for agricultural producers, advisers, university and agricultural school students, and teachers. All training and scientific conferences held within the framework of the Multiannual Program 2016-2020 are complimentary. The classes and events are held in the Institute’s building in Puławy, Agricultural Advisory Centers, schools, and other institutions throughout the country.
The courses cover crop cultivation, agricultural production systems, including organic farming, climate-change-related challenges faced by agricultural producers and low-emission agriculture. Also widely discussed is plant fertilization, and specifically soil liming innovations, the significance of soil reaction in plant cultivation, the role of humus and organic fertilizers in plant production, fertilization planning, nutrient balancing, as well as the fertilizer market, current fertilizer legislation, and fertilization itself. Another key area of training offered by the Institute is soil science. Soil-related training includes soil formation, types, valuation, use, contamination, and degraded soil reclamation. In addition, the Institute offers lectures on the technology of the production of cereals, fodder plants, tobacco, hops, and energy plants, the breeding and integrated protection of tobacco and hops, regional agricultural production conditions and biodiversity protection in rural areas. Practical classes are also held in the fields of the Institute’s experimental facilities and in laboratories.
The above training areas do not reflect the full range of research conducted at the Institute. To regularly share findings with agricultural practitioners, the training offering is updated annually.
